2026 came with more ocd, panic attacks and a new form of anxiety wooo

In book one I thought Bree was a well-fleshed character depicting the consequences of racism, generational trauma, etc. In book 2 Bree has proven to be a selfish, self-centered and lazy teen who expects everything handed to her and throws a tantrum when she doesn't get her way. Everybody somehow understand that this is "not her fault" and tell her she has never done anything wrong in her life, booo.

Bree you are getting on my nerves I swear to God. Nothing is happening. I don't even understand the bad guy's plan, they want to kill Bree so Arthur will go to a more maleable heir, but Bree is the ONLY heir! So they want to go to Vera's line... what does Vera have to do here? She doesn't carry the blood of Arthur.

I'm getting a bit bored. They go from place to place trying to find people, small obstacles arise... and now there are even MORE powerful enemies? In the second half of thr second book in a trilogy?

I don't know if I should finish this one. The premise was interesting and the writing easy-going but MY GOD fei is absolutely INSUFFERABLE. Selfish. self-centered, spoiled and completely useless. Literally everybody has to run to fix her mistakes but she's somehow praised for what other people fix

Uggh, I know that I shouldn't complain and that she's trying to stop a war, but I don't know why the protagonist rubs me the wrong way. She complains about not having power, not being heard but we never see her try.

Did I start a book simply because of the edits the author makes about it on instagram? Yes

I know that the focus of this novella is the romance but damn, this girl is the dumbest vampire I have read.

Hey wait, the summary lied. The fmc was supposed to have no mark to tell her the destiny, but now it turns out that she has like 7 marks but not in the places they should be? And despite being desperate to have a destiny, she hasn't even bothered to learn what some of her marks mean or if they are in the right place? That's convenient... for the plot.

Wait, there are literally only 17 people on this village?

Why do authors insist on making their MC dumb (but still super smart!) Just to try and keep "suspense" going? "Oh this guard who is always kind to me, touches my lips, saves my life and that of my friends -but who was once mean to me in front of those evil guards- is now being nice to me and I dont know why?? What is he hiding??" I dont know girl, it's a mystery

Ok, I knew that this book was a bit loose on the science-aspect. But telling people they have to stop exercising to detox from dopamine?? Nah

Ah yes, there were no resources because *insert vague reason* so the people teamed up against the poor government to distribute the available food better, leaving the US government with no choice but to NUKE THE ENTIRE COUNTRY to stop the "civil war". Now only a city remains standing and even less resources are available. I'd say it's dumb, but it wouldn't surprise me coming from rhe US government
