Over halfway in & the only big “secret” has been intel on what makes her desserts so special. Every chapter: a dessert + a “secret ingredient”. HOLY YAWN. If the real reveal ends up being vanilla extract, I’m going to lose it. Still waiting for an actual secret that isn’t based on her baking.

This feels like Grey’s Anatomy on a budget. LOTS of complaining, hospital chaos, and the occasional love interest to keep things moving. It’s easy to read and not bad, but I’m still waiting for something to really happen.

I’ve been following this case for six years, and somehow Rabia still manages to surface details and questions that feel new with every chapter. The pacing keeps pulling me in, but it never feels rushed. Her writing is perfect when it comes to sharing the investigation. The way she emphasizes what was overlooked or ignored is what really holds your attention. LOVE!

30% in and WOW! If you live in MD and don’t know about Adnan Syed, get with the program. Loved the Serial podcast, and this book is just as gripping. Loving every bit of Rabia’s account so far!

Okay, listennnn. I’m an Edward Cullen STAN FOR LIFE 🩶 but WHY is this book actually eating right now?? Like, I despised the movie for how empty it felt without him, but the book?? The pain and the emotional spiral?! It is giving! I still REALLY miss my sparkly man every page, but lowkey… I get why Bella was losing her mind. Meyer really snapped here, I can’t even lie.

So far, it’s… okayyyy. The suspense is there and I can tell twists are coming but it’s boring so far. I’m intrigued enough to keep reading.

I honestly can’t tell if having watched the movies before is helping me understand the vibes… or ruining the whole experience. Half the time I’m like, “oh yeah, I remember this scene,” and the other half I’m wondering if the book is dragging or if I’m just filling in the gaps with Bella blinking a lot 😔
