so now, all of their friends know including regulus. We’ve made it to the last semester of school before everyone moves to London, Lily got into Oxford, but rejected it (????), and Maura and Peter are back together much to sirius’ dismay.

Remus and Sheila have had it out, it’s not forgiven, but it’s been talked about which is more than they can say for the past 92 chapters of this godforsaken book. Remus finally has a member of his family that has shown affection for him and I love that for him. Sidebar; Peter has finally found out that his two best friends are gay as fuck, and if we’re being honest, James isn’t completely straight either-

very silly so far in the best way. i’m intrigued and really the the characters. we meet reynie (love this name), sticky and kate, who are kids who pass these randomized tests that are hella unconventional but also include social/kindness/morality tests which they are not aware are going on. love me some new concepts for books. so excited.

aw dylan. this was so eye-opening and lovely. i had a wonderful time.

the drug trip… oh dylan lmao. that sounds crazy but it seems to have been enlightening at least.

too sweet. dylan seems like such a positive person but i think we forget we all have our demons. the struggle with the parents made me feel for her a lot. i think it takes an extremely brave person to put this all down on the page. also, i really like how she divides the sections in the book between essay format and diary entry. i had never seen the combo.

remus, sirius, regulus & mary? what a group. this was such a sweet chapter. their friendship is so unexpected and yet it makes so much sense. regulus hanging out with his brother’s friends is so important to their story i love them. also edge? CUTE.

i think exploring something as intimate as a transition on the internet from day 1 is a very bold choice, as well as a little dangerous tbh. there will always be this ulterior motive and opinion lurking behind your self-discovery that will influence your decisions and opinions of yourself. but dylan handled it swimmingly imo. people often forget we are not these perfect unproblematic beings of good. we can err.

i really like the fact that there are 3 formats to the book, and they weave together to represent all the periods of her life. i admire her tenacity.

REGULUS IS BAAAAAACK. music lessons with the kids starring r&r are so back. i love their friendship and their banter. they played fur elise for him :,) it’s very obvious regulus likes james and i think that’s sweet. all of these gays. marlene and mary have made up!!! and THE MARAUDERS CHIPPED THE NOSE OF A GOLD JESUS STATUE LIFE IS GOOD.

THESE GAYS BRO. okay. so. Mary fucked up big-time. She kissed Marlene in front of Nicole as a joke during the no fraternizing party, and Nicole dumped her drink on Marlene’s head this sort of ended in Marlene having to tell Mary that she’s gay. Which also led to finding out that remus and sirius are an item since sirius launched himself into the air, and Remus caught him, losing the bet = they can touch again.

oh, and i guessed it was faith like 60 pages ago.

lia is being blamed for the murders, which is obviously less than ideal. the cops are being useless and her parents even more so.

abby’s dead. BEN is dead. i really liked that guy. and yet somehow lia and devon are worried about their feelings for each other. my god. gem is the only sane person in this group. also, lia’s inner monologue is basically a sad, broken record that gets old quick.

reads like something i would have written in middle school so far. very repetitive. tell not show kind of vibes. i do however, love that one of the main characters, gem, is non-binary without it being a major plot point. very refreshing.

sirius and remus have come out to james and lily 😭that was one of my favorite chapters of all time holy shit. (chap. 86). it took a while but it paid off. lily, of course, already knew and james was as shocked as the next guy but was more mad they didn’t tell him sooner. also we learn that sirius and james had necked on by accident on remus’ bday in 11th year. bisexual james potter, you will always be famous.

sabran and ead promise to meet each other in 10 years when their duties are fulfilled, meg and lievelyn get married and loth inherits goldenbirch. niclays is summoned back to his hometown where he met the love of his life jannart and I assume spends the rest of his days accompanying his widow. tané and nayimathun remain forever linked, though her ending is a little confusing. This story was amazing and I am happy.

honestly, I can’t believe I finished it, it took me about a month, but I can honestly say it was a journey that I am so glad I took because I have come out very knowledgeable on the other side. I love reading and this was definitely not an exception to the rule. Loved it immensely. They defeat the nameless one with both jewels wielded by tané and ead-

there is so much to say, but I think I will start by saying wow. It was very intimidating to start as it is a realm of fantasy that I had never delve into, but once I got the hang of it and really got immersed in the story, I could not put it down. The four narrators of this story, or I guess, the people we see this story through: Niclays, Ead, Loth and Tané have such depth to them and I love all four.

“you know i can have him whenever i want, yeah?” i had to literally get up and walk around my room for a hot second. i fucking KNEW it. sirius took it like a champ tho, bless him. holy fooook that was intense.

well the emperor has consented to sabran’s (technically ead’s) plan and tané will fly to the priory to get fruit to save ead from this weird magic poison to then reunite the 2 stones and bind the nameless one again. all cause the weird incestual (technically not) witch couldn’t keep her hands to herself yaknow. she stole ascalon and now the only remaining option is to delay instead of maim. yay.

tané is the descendant of komoridu of the mulberry tree, half of the bind of the nameless one (the other being cleolind). the tree had been cut ages ago and niclays faced death but laya ran with him until they both faced the golden empress, but tané got there faster in search for the key to free her dragon. this lore runs so deep im a litttle confused but still very invested.

oh also sabran is prob a bastard child that came from the guy the previous queen cheated with… #cooked. niclays is still on the ship heading to the mulberry tree and he has taken tané’s dragon’s scale and blood while she’s tied down. tané is investigating the jewel that came OUT OF HER (batshit) in some knowledge cave.

ead, loth and meg saved sabran and they jailed both combe and crest for their transgressions against the queen of inys. eadaz du nāla uq nara has revealed her true nature and explained the whole story that formed both religions. EAD&SABRAN <3 canon! meg is engaged and loth&meg have reunited:,) sabran is now informed of everything and preparing for the arrival of the nameless one.

- are currently on the run from the red damsels. OH. niclays is on the same ship as tané’s dragon friend, the 3 trees have been revealed (orange, hawthorne, mulberry) and the 2 kinds of magic (siden and hildistérron), sabran is in mortal peril and we’ve now discovered that the cupbearer is crest, not combe as ead initially believed.

SO many developments. this shit just got crazy. the jewel thing everybody’s looking for was INSIDE tané?? niclays has discovered the secret to immortality, ead has been named a traigo to the priory, because the new prioress is acc evil and was the one that killed her mother. ead also met the witch of the woods which had like a fat crush on her (big day for wlw), loth&ead reunion, aralaq and them escaped and-

apparently niclays has found the key to immortality, thanks to jan’s final efforts in life and has spared his life aboard the pirate ship for now. while ead struggles to process the fact that the new prioress doesn’t care if sabran lives or dies which is obviously not flying w her. she also found this key? which opens a crypt that holds a box inside but i still don’t understand what that means. it’s tied w ^
