Anytime I have a depressive episode or an anxiety attack I am now going to blame it on the microorganisms in my gut, because they can LITERALLY SEND THOUGHTS to my brain via the gut-brain information axis. THAT IS CRAZY SCIENCE SHIT!

Finally, a romantasy done right. I’m so over the morally grey (but actually good guy (ugh boringg)) MMC’s and enemy to lovers tropes. There has been so many and while I love the feistiness of that dynamic, I feel that the overload of books published with that trope makes them repetitive and dull. This book is so refreshing in how it displays the preciousness of childhood love and the longing that comes with it.

This series is so incredibly frustrating and yet I can’t stop because the premise is so unique

Only Daniel Kraus could write graphically about being digested in the first and second chamber of a sperm whales stomach and my first thought would be how phenomenal the writing is.

Daniel Kraus, you ruined me with Angel Down. I’ve tried reading five books since then and it’s just not working. If Whalefall is even half as good as Angel Down I’ll cry tears of relief and joy.

I expect this to be a much needed palette cleanser after the abomination that was Icebreaker
