Maybe I just didn’t understand what was going on half the time but I kind of hated this lol - I did, however, love the small nods to the Secret History. Maybe I’ll try and read this again in the future and look beyond the fact that everyone in this book is desperately unlikeable and horny.

initial vibes are that this will be very stoic and borderline nihilistic, but i’m intrigued to see where things will go! i’m not a self-help reader at all but will be trying to read this one chapter per day as recommended - that being said have already cheated by reading the first two chapters today🫣 burkeman might simply say it cannot be helped lol
