Ch 6: putting yourself first in any way damages your marriage. This includes: changing your last name, having separate banking accounts, and hobbies.
Whole little bit about how you should be prioritizing time with your SO (even though the last chapter was all about how your emotional needs/bonds aren’t the point of marriage??)

Sharing is caring—you change your last name because it’s a sign that your a team now (keep in mind the guys not changing his last name)

Ch 5; you have marriages that are self centered (all about romantic/emotional connection with your partner) and marriages about family (your marriage is meant to give you things like kin and more money). No in between.

Ch 4–you being married affects your kids more than your parenting/who you are as a person

Ch 3: marriage gives you a purpose so you don’t kill yourself

Tells us it’s not about race and then proceeds to say that white and Asian Americans are better at stable and happy marriages that Latino and black Americans

Already off to a terrible start when he’s talking about how marriage is going to fix our economic problems
