Harrison has an amazing ability to drop sophisticated insights about life, nature and humans through the perspective of BD, but somehow still maintain the image of BD as a simpleton from hinterland of UP Michigan.

BD is a great character. But I am glad I can hit pause on the audiobook. BD is kind of like a drunk local you meet at a dive bar spinning yarns about their entire lives you never asked about. Interesting, but in doses.

Fun so far. Characters seem incidental, not a lot of substance in that regard, but enjoying the pace and plot.
