It’s an easy enough read. I’m not invested in the story. I find the science interesting enough but a novel about cloning humans without a deep dive into the morality and ethics of it feels empty and all we get is brief mentions that it’s not morally or ethically just. That doesn’t feel like enough.

Feels like there isn’t anywhere for this story to go right now.

At this point I feel like I know what’s happened but I don’t trust anyone who narrates this book and I don’t trust myself and I don’t trust anyone who’s ever spoken about it. In 10 pages I’ll believe what my own brain tells me.

Are they all the same person?

What’s with the wood lice song? Am I missing something?

Why does nobody feel pain? I don’t understand this part at all

The Ankou felt similar in description, to me, to how Olivia described seeing “the lord”

The gods aren’t bodies? I started thinking they were people but they’re just artifacts of moments it seems. Still so unsure of what’s going on.

I’m getting more and more suspicious of Olivia 😭😭

I always hate an unreliable narrator at the end, but there’s something to be said for knowing every narrator they give you is inherently unreliable and that you can count on that?

Amazing book. My second time reading this series
