I'm this far in, so I think I'll just finish it but I keep checking when this will be over. So far, I'm just not as interested in the outcome for these characters as I should be.

It really bothers me how worried Mare is about Cal when he didn’t choose her. And she literally just got betrayed by his brother. She should be wary but she’s still thinking in terms of “they don’t know him like I do”, the same drivel she spewed at Julian. Girl!!!

I don’t care about the telepathy at all. Having it be a bigger issue than just hearing one person is derailing the book to me. I wanted it to be about her figuring out why Trent is not for her, not learning to cling to the only person who gets this crazy thing happening to her out of necessities.

She asks him if he has any idea what he's asking of her, but I wonder if she realizes what she's asking of him.

This one is not as engaging as the first. I don't know if I just didn't notice it in the first book but she tends to say something and then have two sentences after it emphasizing it unnecessarily.
