I have ordered this book in print and will go back and reread a few stories and continue from there.
I love the stories and his narration matches the content but, being hearing impaired, I couldn’t, on any of my speakers or earbuds, could I hear the dips in the cadence of his voice.

Not sure I will continue.
I may put it back on the read list and delete this session. There’s really only about a week until Eastern Orthodox Holy Week.
There are several others I’d like to finish.

I think I am not ready for this book yet.
I am not giving it the attention it needs to learn from it.
I will pause here and return to it when it may be its time.

Still stalled and in need of spiritual guidance. Will seek soon.
It’s not a book to rush through though. It seems simple but those are often the deepest ones.

This book has been an excellent deep dive into the spiritual side of despondency(Acedia in Greek. Also known in western medicine as depression).
This must be assessed with a spiritual father to help determine when you are in need of Western care in conjunction with the treatment of despondency.

The first chapter blew me away.
So what comes next and how do I handle and learn from it?

I’m learning about the infallibility of the Church as one. No single person or even a council is infallible, but what lives in the body of the Church is the truth. The Holy Trinity live within this Church & with Them, how can the Church make a mistake?
Personal infallibility is impossible so that mistakes are made by we sinful creatures but the Church as a whole never succumbs. Iconoclasm is an example.

This is really good stuff
I’m learning about the separation of Jesus the man suffering on the cross from Christ the victor at the resurrection.
What a shame for the western church.
