So good

I am still enjoying it, but this sequel does not have the magic of the original.

Exercises are great and easy to follow.

The introduction of a sentient AI that is sort of an asshole really changed the tone of this book. I like it.

The writing a bit rudimentary but fantasy story still interesting. The book is leading to an obvious conclusion, but how the author will implement the steps to that conclusion is what keeps me engaged.

I find this similar the author Brad Thor’s writing style. Where Thor leans conservative, however, Baldacci leans liberal. Both entertaining in their own ways.

Does not take itself too seriously. I like that. Also does not bombard me with 10 pages of lore. Just a paragraph or two and then back into the action. Just what I am looking for right now.

I am doing the audiobook and am so glad too. The subject is compelling, but the book reads like a textbook. I would be hard-pressed to be 200 pages in on day three if I had to read it.

The book starts off slow. By page 150, however, it is captivating. Writing style is in the vein of Brad Thor and/or David Baldacci. Not Shakespeare but entertaining.

The writing is so matter-of-fact and the story so textbook, yet I am enjoying every word.

This memoir was suggested by a coworker. I am very glad I am reading it. Learning a lot outside my middle-class white male bubble.

A little rudimentary in its hero’s journey narrative, but so far a fun fantasy tale that is by the numbers.

REALLY struggling with this one. I thought about marking as DNF, but sticking with for now. Presently would rate this 1 star. A few points had led me to possibly increase the review to 2 stars, but then it dips back to 1 star after a few more pages. Ugh.

Not really my cup of tea (pun intended) so far. I will keep reading, however, in case it turns around, as I enjoyed Morton’s other novels immensely.

“main” characters have been killed off in a shocking fashion. Wow…just wow.

I am unsure what to make of this story. It seems disjointed yet ironically connected.

This book is very different from other King book I have read. The antagonist almost seems like the main character, but you go dozens of pages within reading about him. It is almost like Castle Rock the place is the main character and the people are just playing side-parts.

The very descriptive train lingo is losing me a tiny bit, but I am still heavily invested in the characters and overall story.

This entire series is epic. Loving every silly exciting page.

Has a different start than other books by King I have read. This intrigues me.

Almost done! Great story, even if almost 1,300 pages.

Enjoying it immensely. Sad it is almost over.

Pace slowing down a bit, but at page 1,057 that is expected.
