Just finished the section on Sacagawea. It is telling the difference in this author account of her versus other historical works.

This is very similar to King’s other work “The Outside.”

Dinniman really has found his voice. The character development, plot development, and world building is on point.

This book is growing on me. I feel, however, that every other paragraph I find myself going “Hmm…I don’t know about the validity of that claim/argument, what source(s) is he citing?” I then go down an inquiry that may lead to a rabbit hole of Googling & research. This is not a bad thing, but I doubt most readers would take this approach and instead take the claim at face-value, which CAN be a VERY bad thing.

If the author did not shove down your throat the misleading statement of “The media shoves Global Warming gloom and doom down our throats” every few pages I could take this author’s contentions more seriously.

Definitely understanding why this novel is so highly-regarded.

Diving into chapter on dissociation. Really helpful.

I find the game of Kite competition really interesting.

Book has so many fascinating facts, but the writing style reads more like a textbook.

I have not been able to put this down since I started it.

I am curious where it will go. I have heard so many great things about this novel, but so far I feel “meh” about it.

Just started Chapter 16

Listening as an audiobook to supplement my DuoLingo doing in solidarity with my daughter, who is just starting to learn her first language. It is fun and challenging, mainly because I regularly confuse French words with Spanish ones!

The initial premise has me quite intrigued.

A series should not be this good.

A unique approach to narrating Union history and current state in 2020s

I am still enjoying it, but this sequel does not have the magic of the original.

Exercises are great and easy to follow.

The introduction of a sentient AI that is sort of an asshole really changed the tone of this book. I like it.

The writing a bit rudimentary but fantasy story still interesting. The book is leading to an obvious conclusion, but how the author will implement the steps to that conclusion is what keeps me engaged.

I find this similar the author Brad Thor’s writing style. Where Thor leans conservative, however, Baldacci leans liberal. Both entertaining in their own ways.
