My last cosy fantasy was a disaster but I couldn't get through the epic fantasy I am reading rn (not giving up yet!) so what else can we do.

I cannot find any time to read yet I am slowily rolling into this. I better enjoy this because the third book has a banger cover that I want as a hardcover edition😎

Might need a bit of a break from this, as my anxiety is going through the roof.

Still a banger but ALARM! the author is sexist. I began to notice every younger female character (20-30 age) just HAS to be describes as having "volumptuous lips, being so hot, a pornographic fantasy."

Like at some point the irrelevant female neighbour just walks past and our MMC stops what he is doing to "yearn" for a bit?

Checked and found this author has written sexist stuff before in his work.

This has been a blast so far. I try to not read it before bed because it already brought me 1 sleepless night. Ah but it is perfect for October👻🎃.

Freud on the 1st page jumpscare

Odd, I miss the main characters of the first book... Love the setting still, and whenever it tells about the magic, I am super invested. I just don't really care so much for the main couple this time...

I also keep feeling this book has a serious problem with how it represents its female characters. It desperately tries to be funny in its dialogue but it isn't working out for me. Probably gonna keep reading though.

I didn't expect the Bridgerton era to show up out of nowhere. Also, can Alice please let the other girl finish speaking instead of whining all the time.

This is quite surprising. I had seen some readers not enjoying Alice's flashback episodes much, and I thought I agreed with them. But I feel myself quite drawn to her past anyway...

Ahh it is enjoyable for sure. But not in the way Threads of Power overwhelmed me completely. I may or may not enjoy Schwab's work much when it is in a modern setting. At the same time, I cannot help but compare Maria to Addie..

16 year old me did *not* catch onto all the hidden themes in this novel. I am quite proud of her for reading this so young. (although I am sure she did not understand half of it). Fun to reread a book almost a decade later (help it has been a decade??)
