Yeah this eats

I know a lot of people, myself included could never really wrap their heads around why a person from Latin America whether that be an immigrant themselves or a child of immigrants would become a border control agent and this truly makes it easier to understand.

Is it crazy to say I’m a bit scared of this book even though I literally read it in high school and adored it? It’s like for some reason I don’t trust that I’ll understand it this time or that I won’t get anything new from it. I’m excited but scared lol

Actually feel sick (not even joking I’ve been nauseous) about these stories and I think that speaks to how over-filtered the education surrounding slavery really is in US schools. And they want to water it down EVEN MORE?! wtf is this world

I’ve just begun the introduction to this and I’m remembering that I read this in one of my classes in high school. I’m extremely excited to read it at this point in my life vs then
