I left this book on a flight and didn't notice until it was too late to get it back. To whomever picked it up: I hope you read it and I hope you enjoyed it!

So far this is just overly confusing. The concepts are not that new or difficult, but the frequent use of neologisms (Thanks Brian!) just makes this a slow read.

Two stories in at the moment (ignore page#) and this has been a great read. The stories have had very different themes, but have been based around the the same/similar characters and subject matter. I love the historical interest that the characters have in exploring the wrecks of long lost space ships. I also love the lost-technology theme that is being played out. Hope the other stories are good, though I hear not.

This is probably the book that I have been looking forward to the most. So keen to get right into it.

I'm having a hard time enjoying this book. It's just so boring. Even with the flashbacks of how he got to where he is, I just cant get invested in the plight of the main character. We'll see if it gets any better. I'm hoping that it does.

An interesting read but not a light hearted read. Every chapter gives the feeling that we are on a slow downward spiral into total craptitude. Each chapter is pretty much a description of how something we thought was a great revolution or idea, was a gateway into misery. Example: the realisation that evolution selects for the greatest quantity of life, not the greatest quality of life.

I have yet to find an over arching story line. The story so far is that nearly everyone in the world is dead. A few survivors wonder about and observe the world as it changes in the absence of man. sounds boring but I'm really enjoying the read.

Im having a hard time with this book. There are some real gems in it, but the editor has a strange taste for greatness resulting in some whoppers. Im about 1/2 way through and will endeavor to finish, though it will be a bit of a slog. So far the shorter stories have been the most enjoyable.

So far this book reads like a really bad sci-fi movie. The author is hinting at a bunch of ideas which are rather stupid.

Every woman in the book is described as being beautiful or desirable, where as the men cover the full range of hot to not. This surely is set in a fantasy world.

There are a number of factual errors that are are not plot-critical, but they are rather annoying.

Just finished the first section of the book and am very interested. I can't decide if the society in the silo is completely corrupt and horrible, or if it is the last good remnants of humanity.

Really not having much fun with this book. The first part was quite interesting and showed promise, but now I feel like i'm reading a kids fairy tale rather than a scifi.

About 30% of the way through this book so far and I'm not that impressed. There are a number of things wrong with the description of Europa that just grate at me whenever they are mentioned. Vonnie's love for the sunfish isn't very well motivated beyond "they haven't had a chance to be nice yet", which I think is stupid. I see promise in the AI and political themes so i'll stick with it.
