Unable to compare this to any of Patterson’s other work because I haven’t read it, I’m finding so much filler tiring. The story itself is compelling and the slow build to the confrontation was fun to follow, but I can’t help but feel a lot of stuff was added just “because.”
Not quite done yet so holding out hope what feels like filler turns out to be vital to the conclusion.
