found this book in the donation telephone box. Took it on hols, & at first I didn’t know who was who. Relaxed into ‘knowing the characters & their connections’.

It’s a very subtle story,
Never want it to end,
cos then the characters disappear off into the ethers.
Sadly

there’s too much plucking of etheric heart strings, - one - chapter … towards the end of ‘tragedy’, but so full of stereotypes & formulaic,
I read to see what ‘the’ thing is was, but, not worth trugging through such a dripping w sugary syrupy narrative. I’m allergic.!..

….. painfully ….. inching… to ‘a’ ‘the’ conclusion,
We will see!. What becomes of this lengthily expounded narrative,
Glossy comfortable, picture perfect: it’s too clean n safe,
No edge.

…… FINALLY getting into it,

took a little while ( about 200 pages ) to get into, but now I’m invested.

…. young love’s awkward mish mash of words, & misunderstandings across a handful of years.

Difficult to read: have listened to Max P’s explanation of it on BBC Sounds, Bookclub interview 2020, will have another go sometime. I carry it with me..
