Gave it a try but I just can't seem to care.

I really like this series. My fav books this summer.

Hated it

Ay first I didnt like this and almost gave up. The most I listened the more interesting it got. Not a fav read but not the worst either.

I'll be honest, I had no idea who this lady was. I'm not one to know much about famous people. I did find her story interesting, young fame in the 90's, what were rich kids in California doing while I was young, poor, and also ridiculous.

Interesting idea but financial essays make me crash and burn.

This does not do anything for me. I was hoping for some hot historical theory or gossip but it really just seems like someone needed to write a book for tenure.

I thought I would hate this but slowly I have become invested in the world and story.

I liked the perspective from someone who lived through the turmoil in Gaza

I do not like this. I find it dull.

There wasn't anything particularly special about this. Some stories and characters have run their course. Close up, move on. Make new stuff.

I did not find any of it particularly memorable so I stopped listening to it after making it about half way through.

I liked the premise/beginning. Wasn't a fan of most of the middle. Was entertained at the end.

Just a bunch of random thoughts. Tried something new. Was reminded why I stick to the things I like.

Could not finish it. Seemed weird just to be weird but really the story just didn't make me care about what happens.

A long personal essay about a life experience. It was well researched, not something I would read again but did find interesting.

I gave up. Gave it a try but it just didn't do it for me.

Noped out just 10 minutes in. I am over stories like this. The fast fashion of the literary world. No thanks.

Imagine my disappointment when I thought this book was "Japanese Pimp Slurs" but now the only thing I can do is be nice to Japanese pimps.

So gar my favorite part has how about how much of a wanker Ben Franklin was.

This is super annoying. I dislike how they felt the need to add a "joyful American male" voice alongside the English fluent native Japanese speaker.

Didnt make it very far. Not very captivating in the beginning.

I read this skeptical, not of Giuffre because I believe all of the people named and not named did everything she said and maybe even more; I was skeptical more because everyone involved has been paid off, hushed up, and intimidated into silence or partial truths. I am not blaming any victims, the guilty people made it very clear to the victims how powerful they are/were. Epstein killed her indirectly.

I had to listen in small chunks. It gets a bit dry, but it is history and that happens. This book has a lot of detailed accounts of racism in American against Chinese people, and tells the long standing tale of people pushing back against the refusal by both American culture and government to recognize that "all men are created equal". Immigrant history is American history.

Maybe I'm just not in the mood but I have not been able to pay attention to any of the stories.

This sounds like a lot of the crazy tech bros - mass control, smart people should have more kids. But rallies against tech because Ted K. Blamed the media for the fact that he was gay or trans and he turned to a deep self hatred. Sucks to suck. What a fucking asshole.

The bird similes are insulting lol

Gave up pretty early. I just don't like the pacing.

I am not a fan. It reads like a late 50's Zeitgeist and I have no nostalgia for the time period.
