Yeah, the dreams with the wolves. I didn’t trust this guy in the first place and now Perrin is having wolf dreams? It’s suspicious.

Jordan really separated Rand and Egwene for the middle of this story. I hope the reunion is going to be worth the separation. They are so cute and I’m very disinterested in this whole subplot with the wolf guy. I just want them to get to their HEA but I feel like Jordan is going to stretch that out because there are so many books.

I have a feeling this captain and his family are estranged and he’s actually deeply sensitive about his boat and crew.

“As the foggy tentacle grew thicker.” Such a creepy description…

Reading the prequel first is interesting because, while it gave me an idea of the writing style, this feels more like a D&D campaign. I miss the character development. This isn’t bad, but it’s easy to tell how much earlier this was in his writing journey.

Jack’s POV is so disturbing here. King did a fantastic job with dancing the line between supernatural experience and insanity. How much of this is in his mind and how much of this is the outsider?

Okay, so it actually surprised me. I was sort of on the right track but it has surprised me and I’m loving these characters.

The ending seems pretty obvious now. It sounds like the perp is a shapeshifter who can assume the identity of anyone whose DNA they can get. The fingernail drawing blood from the bouncer the night of the crime, then the situation with the orderly? Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’ve watched too much X-Files.

I didn’t expect the movie to be such a close adaptation.

Book Sophie is so much funnier than movie Sophie.
