day16!

ok i think im at the end of the first movie?? i assume anyway because the cliffhanger is kinda huge. so grateful to be getting out of jacob’s pov cause my god its so poorly written. so much cringey writing!! BUT things are actually happening (predictable but it’s still things!!))

i can’t believe there’s actually been payoffs & tension!! it’s only taking 3&1/2 books!!

day15!! easily my longest reading session to date, is that due to my eagerness to finally be done with the series OR because BD actually has an interesting plot from the start?? maybe a teeny bit of both😸

i do find this whole baby shenanigan a little weird & it’s woefully written, there is such a little amount of nuance which is funny but oh well! the imminent werewolf attack on the other hand?? invested!!

day13!!

plsss say this ending is going to be a satisfying read!!! this entire book has been painfully leading up to this next 100 pages so SOMETHINGS gotta happen 🦇🐺

day12!!!

the plot is semi-investing, i do feel the stakes get lower & lower the more this whole seattle vampire problem keeps getting delayed however. jacob finally admitting he loves bella would definitely work better if he didn’t immediately assault her afterwards🙄

day11!!!

story is definitely getting somewhere now. at least a bit of mystery and suspense!!

what i can’t look passed is the terrible ‘imprinting’ section!!! WHY IS QUIL GROOMING A 2YR OLD!!!! i’m already finding it hard to feel much sympathy for jacob / the werewolf’s in general, why add more & more dislikable things to their characters if ur still trying to create a love triangle vibe!!!

day10!! after a small break (due to the slog of new moon) i am back in forks and back with an open mind!

eclipse has unfortunately started with the same bloat & pointless filling in the boring gaps between the ending of NM and the start of this! hopefully the story can actually start now everyone is angry at each other

(jacob is still written so awfully. he is such a dick idk why bella keeps feeling bad for him!!

day 8!! starting to lose my patience with this book!! everytime i think something truly fun & interesting is going to happen it gets delayed even more!!! i’m happy to be getting out of forks at least, this bells / jacob story has been such a drag!! hopefully it’s finally gonna pick up here & give a decent finale!

day7!! 1st week down🐺!!

okay we’re slowly getting somewhere & i’m finally starting to feel a bit of intrigue!! it’s a shame it’s taken over half the book to get there😭. i noticed with the first book, there is SO much time spent building up to something which then ends up being glossed over super quick!! the payoffs to 100+ page building is so weak!! also jacob kinda sucks..

day 6!! honestly such a drag!!! this downtime until jacob becomes 🐺 (im assuming that’s happening rn) has been so long, i can’t believe there’s been 100+ pages of buildup. maybe the fact i know jacob is gonna become very important to the love triangle (& a wolf) is making the suspense feel nonexistent but wow it was such plain writing! bring back edward soon i need some more concrete drama!!

day 5!! new moon has begun and honestly was looking like such a promising start. i think the concept/idea of bella struggling with ageing compared to the cullen’s is actually pretty interesting but it always ends up with the same conclusion of her wanting to become like them with zero nuance in between!! oh well i’m still reeled in. i wonder when the cullen’s will come back tho :0 i think it’s jacob time🐺

day 3!! (counting it as days i’ve actually read as i was twilight-less all day yesterday😢)

left myself on probably the biggest cliffhanger of the book so that’s fun!! would say more but as i’ll finish it tomorrow most of my thoughts can go into the full review!!

day2!! okay i am now fully accepting that im going to witness some of the worst dialogue ive read. i can’t choose to ignore it now the romance is rly picking up. aww bella & edward tho😽. the whole tree jumping scene was so funny to read, rly bad choices of words (why was edward ‘bounding’ ffs) loving it in a terrible way🙂‍↕️

it’s twilight marathon time (only the 4 main entries i’m not mad) & tbh day 1 was good!! (if i ignore how meh the writing is.) my only experience with the twilight franchise is watching the first movie a decade ago + the decode music vid so this book so far has been semi-familiar to me! not expecting the world but it’s been pretty serviceable so far 🐺

what is this reiko backstory😐😐😐😐😐 i get it was a diff time but cmon man🤕 such a strange book because it’s beautifully sad & confusing at times but there’s moments that are just completely taking me out of the story!!!

kinda went in expecting the worst (uber popular book etc blah blah) & being the obvs murakami start point (£2 in a charity shop i promise😇) but nah pretty great so far!

i am still loving this i do just have to laugh at the mental image of davey doing fucking ‘hip-hop’ dancing at 3am in the parking lot & that not giving her the ick

part 4!! slowly beginning to brace myself for how soul destroying this ending might be 😿

part3 done!! what i’m really noticing is how much easier this book is to read this far in. i feel the first 50 pages or so really push the reader in a way, forces you really to engage. overtime this cements its style into you & now it’s just a complete joy to delve into Wright’s vision

part 2 finished!! Wright really knows how to teeter on the edge between comedy & sadness. rly heavy

what an awfully depressing 70ish pages☹️

part 1 finished!! genuinely such a singular book i’ve not read anything quite like it before. completely hallucinogenic experience so far. the characterisation has been immense considering how little ‘proper’ dialogue actually appears. totally invested!
