my first time reading this novel in french! my first time reading a book in french period! ahhh!!

as they say, ‘tis the season!

is this the third time i’m reading this book in six months? yes. do i have any shame? well, maybe a little, but only because my local librarians now know that i am not the leather jacket-clad stoic i appear at first glance, but instead, tragically, a romantic.

i will no longer be defending my literary choices. thanks & you've been warned.

I’m so excited for this book! I was fortunate enough to win a (signed!) copy at a live Jane Austen Summer Program event two weeks ago, and I’ve been itching to crack it open ever since—especially after just having re-read Pride and Prejudice. Susan Allen Ford is one of my personal scholastic heroes, so I’m looking forward to her insights re: what Jane Austen’s characters read (and why).

i want to take a shot every time darcy thinks he’s absolutely NAILING this whole regency flirting thing and meanwhile lizzy’s just like “what a weirdo????”

just realized i'm reading the revised 2010 edition and NOT the original 1973 text sleijhslisjkjhdhf i was so confused like "wtf why do they have cell phones lol" 😭💀

i have absolutely nothing to say for myself other than that this is for research purposes

i feel like i would ordinarily hate this book but i'm listening to it on audio while i do my silly little cross-stitching and oh dear god it is HILARIOUS

it's for research guys i swear
