okay, ali hazelwood usually has an acceptable grasp on writing (and she def does her character work well) but this is just lazy and objectively bad but it's such a short novella that I'm going to finish it anyway

Started reading this yesterday on my new kindle from my awesome boyfriend who is so smart and kind and funny and beautiful and is the most generous and loving person everrrrr! :D best birthday gift ever! Also I like the book so far but I've heard the main character is really unlikeable

BRUH. I need the main character to understand that she cannot lead a revolution if she is killed when she purposefully allows Scion to abduct and torture her. And also I am sick of reading about torture! There's too much torture! I'm going to redact one star for every time she gets kidnapped and tortured for the rest of this book so take THAT, Samantha Shannon.
