Same issue:
1. Main (female) character minimizes her own reactions and refuses her perception and intuition. (“I shouldn’t be feeling like this.” “I’m overreacting.”)
2. Secondary characters (often: partners) are unsupportive or infantilizing.
Thought this might be because I’m listening to a YA author. But after listening to the sea chase scene, I don’t think this is a YA book.
