These kids are so tough. Adults are just flawed, suffering people, flailing as they tey their best, but in this story and in this moment, I wish they would try harder and do better by their kids and themselves.

I am despising Leni's selfish, sick father and all these selfish, sick disaster preppers more and more.

Already understanding the thesis to be crazy, damaged men make women suffer, and hella foreshadowing that any women or girls will be attacked? Or somehow be so deeply threatened? I am feeling anxious alongside Leni and Cora.

I know I am meant to hate Anthony, he's obviously an antagonist of sorts... and I do. I hate this guy.

The pain, beauty and distress of seeing someone else give words to my own heart, my own heartbreak, my own grief, is astonishing.

Whenever someone says "anything but (...)" my immediate first instinct is the (...) is totally going to happen. I am hooked here.

This book is heavy and beautiful. And unnerving and a little claustrophobic at first.

It is comforting to feel seen.

I am STRESSED.

What the actual hell is going on here. This is why I don't mess with multiverse stuff. My brain is like a kaleidoscope right now.
