Pablo Lopez is on page 164 of 614 of The Iliad
Achilles being too angry at Agamemnon to actively participate in the first battle of the war is sending me…also the whole chapter dedicated to naming the Greek tribes on the Achaean side felt kinda unnecessary but I’m sure if I was listening to a bard tell this story in Ancient Greece it would have been more relevant…

Oh I wasn’t expecting the homoeroticism but I’m not mad about it…

I really don’t know if I like Gately all that much tbh…his story is compelling I guess but I feel like there is a part of his character we are missing that isn’t letting me fully connect with him. I do absolutely adore Mario and Hal’s relationship with each other. My favorite parts of the book have honestly been the parts about Mario and how he sees the world.

Hal's achilles tendinitis is the most relatable part of the narrative so far. I've found that the humor in this novel is very subtle. Some jokes definitely have flown over my head but the ones I do catch are pretty funny.

300 pages in…only 27 per cent…so far lots of addiction, some s*icide, a TON of tennis, a fair amount of humor (several chuckles were had), and a gradual and inevitable union of disparate storylines.

There are parts of this book that are so hard to get through…and honestly it’s not even the violence itself but rather how NORMAL it is to the people in the book that makes it so unnerving; it truly feels like another world completely.

The military strategy chapters are lowkey boring and honestly I feel like one of the main characters should have died by now considering Singapore is being constantly bombed.
