I can understand at this point why Osamu Dazai committed suicide. The lack of support he had and discouragement he received from others and the things that happened to him in his life gives reason for why he made the choice to end his life. Perhaps if his family, especially his father, was supportive, especially after his first attempt, he might have lived to an old age and have had a happier life.

I’m getting really into it! Melancholy but not too melancholy like The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Started using a highlighter since there are so many things I wanted to highlight that felt they deserved a highlight. Great book so far! :)
