I just started this book this morning. I read another book by the author and loved it. I think it's the underlying humor that I like about her writing. So far, the plot sounds familiar.

Maya Angelou definitely led an interesting life, was so talented and met so many famous and wonderful people. I like that her books don't shy away from sharing how naive and immature she was although also so intelligent. Each book shows her growth as an individual.

So far, halfway through the book, it is very similar to Mad Honey. I read that book a year and a half ago. Similar themes of comparing animal nature to human nature (wolves and bees) and both books contain a character dealing with their sexual orientation.
