Slow, but lovely story.

After the first 1.5 stories, the tales have progressively felt more “unfinished.” Maybe I’m not reading deeply enough, but there’s very little horror, introspection, or mythology from Latin America (as promised) in this collection that doesn’t feel very cohesive or well-edited. So far, there are only two stories that stand out: the first and “Different Colors Made of Tears.”

These stories start out powerful and-thus far-conclude open-ended in a beautiful yet horrifying way.

Loving the prose and excited to see where the story goes!

So far, I absolutely adore the mix of the gothic with the darkly humorous.

Sooooo good! Probably my favorite read of the year.
