Good lord there is so much internal monologuing in this book!!! For one line of dialogue there’s 5 paragraphs of thinking and thinking and thinking. I love well-rounded characters as much as the next gal, but sometimes we gotta just keep it moving!

I can’t stop giggling that these two men keep talking about phone sex like it’s the kinkiest thing in the world. My desensitized self is reading about sadism and watersports on the daily, and Luka and Zander are scandalized by the most vanilla phone sex I’ve ever read. One “good boy” and they think they’re BDSM experts. So innocent. So naive. So silly.

Now why would we put a character named Camden and a character named Cameron in overlapping books that are both about age play and BDSM? And when we abbreviate them to Cam, what then?? Seems unfair, but onward I go.

I love the ways Archer accepts Easton’s trauma and doesn’t read into things unnecessarily or take things too personally. When Easton invites him over to play with his dogs, he just understands implicitly that that’s East’s way of saying he wants to spend time with him without actually saying it. It’s so refreshing to have a character who assumes the best of their partner and appreciated the little steps!
