i really want to like this, but it’s just so pretentious

starting off great

“the fresh scent of his sweat filled my nose” is not exactly something i’d associate with pleasure but you do you i guess

no “story purposes” can excuse the horrifying amount of smut in here. i genuinely think i have never read this many smut scenes in a single book before

the cover bothers me. it doesn’t look like rue and eli at all, it’s almost like the cover artist tried desperately to make them look conventionally attractive, WHICH RUE IS NOT THATS THE WHOLE POINT!!! and also i have no idea what eli looks like because i think the only descriptions i read about him were “broad shoulders” and “curly hair”

watch me read black butler like a deranged lunatic to hit my reading goal

look at me go, reading more than 100 pages in a day, this is insane actually

i don’t really want to admit it but i do really like rue she’s kinda different from the generic romance book protagonist

having critical thinking skills is both a blessing and a curse

reading this because i hate myself and im already cringing so hard one chapter in

yeah of course i’m going to hit my reading goal this year i have a whole four days left
