A little more of a slow reader when it comes to short story collections. Because each is a tiny book.

UR is so damn good. All things serve the Tower.

Bad Little Kid is a good story.

I haven’t read Christine yet (I know, I know), but it’s referenced in Mile 81, which means it should make for a great story when I get there.

“It is hard to love a vessel that appears to be the author of significant pain.” - speaking about those navigating chronic illness and/or nonconformity.

This book is hitting my heart feels.

“The luxury of not having to think about one’s body always comes at another body’s expense.”

Both loving that the phrase body-terrorism is now in my vocabulary + also hating that it needs to exist.

“We struggle to hold the truths of others because we have so rarely had the experience of having our own truths held.”

This. Is starting out hot. First page references both COVID and the Tet Corporation. Set in the year 2026.

I already know I’m in for a good time.

Last of the Gwendy trilogy…

Stephen King really likes the word palaver, which is rarely heard until I started reading more of his stories.

It’s wild to me how much this book blends in with King’s Castle Rock world. There’s even a slight dark zone aka shining kinda reference.

I keep forgetting King did not actually write this.

Little Easter egg quote from The Dark Zone. And I love being able to catch more of those these days.

I enjoy seeing my good friend Norris Ridgewick.

This book while officially authored by Richard Chizmar, lives in the town of Castle Rock, located in the Stephen King Universe, and is cowritten by the King himself.

Take me away, Gwendy!

Oh Gwendy…. really feeling for her right now.

Definitely helps to have read Cujo, Dark Zone, AND The Dark Half before this.

This second read has much more context.
