One of the books I’ve least wanted to read, but a quest is a quest after all.

A lot of dystopian Squid Games vibes all up in here.

Love when an author allows a character to reference another one of his books like it’s casual everyday talk.

Because it would be.

Released in 1980 and somehow seems representative of today. Full circle.

This story is more disturbing than I thought and a different perspective of having a “superpower”

Not what I expected. I’m hooked.

This book was released the month/year I was born. It’s destiny.

I already knew a bit about King’s serious accident in 1999, but reading this full account was heavy.

Cackling hard at this take about writing classes and distraction free writing retreats.

So so good. From talking about themes, to how he writes and edits his stories, to story-driven work.

Really enjoy learning about his writing g process in more detail. I’d heard bits before but his mind is fucking fascinating.

Reading about his first experience with someone editing his work, his mom’s job working with a mangler, his thoughts on the horror movie genre, his mill experience being eerily close to Graveyard Shift.

And the love he and Tabby seem to show for each other is inspiring.
