Poppy and Alex, as different as they are have learned to love each other. From college days, fights, and different jobs pulling them apart, their summer vacations always seemed to be the missing piece. When Poppy thought their relationship was over, she felt that just one more trip together would make everything work out. It turns out it took 12 summers and counting for their love to follow them wherever they went.

Poppy and Alex have been best friends ever since they first bumped into each other on their car rides home from college. These two could not be more opposite from each other. While Alex likes stability, plans, and control, Poppy has a very poppy personality. She is a wild child who longs for adventure, spontaneity, and excitement. So far they have begun to take continual vacations with one another, each for a week.

Wayne escaped his father, and fell into addiction, but did his best to recover. He ended up with a wife and family of his own. After he and his siblings realized what other people's lives were like, more truths were revealed to them about their childhood. Wayne and his siblings showed up on the Sally Jessy Raphel Show and convinced both parents to show up that night when they told the world the truth about their past

Wayne and his Mother and Siblings escaped to their grandmother's, their dad was nice and convinced them to return home with him, but their father was not genuine so he did not stay nice for long. They wanted so badly to be loved by him. Over time their father's abusive ways were back to normal. Often people would show up at their house and there started to be more accusations upon their parents for neglection.

Wayne's is finally led to sources available for him to read about his parents wrong doing in rasing him and his siblings. A woman tries to stop him from reading them, but he insists. He is broken after reading and finding out that what his father and parents had done was not normal ways of living. He just thought that wealthy people could afford to cover up their bruises or trauma, but that is not so.

Wayne narrates as his younger self and as his older self. He visits a library when he is older in search of news. He has found out that one of his parents got themselves into trouble when he was a young boy and might have gone to jail. He searches the archives all day but never finds anything within the right dates. The lady at the front tries to help, and just before giving up, they flip the page, and there it was.

Wayne learns how to be sneaky and strategic by going out to the woods to avoid spending his time inside his house or starving. Then he starts going to school, although he has never written with anything and used paper and pencil he wants to learn more. Wayne wants so badly to have a connection with others, but all of his outer appearances lead to kids being mean to him, so he is stuck at home with his abusive father.

A little boy named Wayne from Massachusetts had an abusive father and could not remember a time in his life when he was not abused. His father loves control over their family. The kids got beat for sneaking extra food, not doing their jobs, going out into the woods, and sometimes for no reason at all. There was no way to build trust because everyone ratted the others out. One day Wayne's dad almost beat him to death.

I just got this book at the end of class yesterday, so I have not read any. It is a nonfiction book about child abuse and finding hope. Although it might be a little heart aching or sad at some moments I am ready to start reading and see what this book turns out to be! I am curious to know more, hopefully, I will like it!

After Clare finds out that she and Henry are married in the future, she becomes excited for their future together. They get married and try to start a life and family together, but the more frequent time traveling wears down on his physical health. Henry cannot give her children, but his past self gets his wife pregnant so they can have a child. Henry ends up in a cold Chicago winter and dies because of frostbite.

From the smaller amount I read this week, this untraditional love story continues on to tell me about how in Henry's travels, although he may not always know where he came from or where he is going, Clare remains constant. She is always on the edge of her land, near the woods, laying out on a picnic blanket with clothes, water, and food, ready to meet all of Henry's needs, just in case he arrives there.

Henry travels through time, not by choice, but by fate. Randomly he will be transferred to a different year or day in a random place without clothes or money with him. He is left completely naked, searching for clothes and money to bring him somewhere familiar. He often ends up in the woods of Clare's backyard. Sometimes Clare is a young child or maybe a teen. She brings him clothes and food as she falls for him.

After businesses were shut down, the teenagers whose lives were intertwined learned that not everything about being an adult is handed to you. You have to fail and grow beyond your mistakes of the past to learn. The book ended with all the friends gathered, looking up, talking about if there would be a tomorrow as they watched the asteroid Ardor, but it was just a tiny speck in the sky slowly getting brighter.

The countdown is down to weeks until the astroid Ardor is rumored to destroy the world. After Eliza, Peter, Andy, Anita, and all the teenagers' lives were intertwined because of this disaster, first, they had decided to do good in the world and experience new things finally, but after buildings were out of business, phone lines went down, and their lives were no longer normal, they chose to love and live recklessly.

After finding out that there was an asteroid that might be headed toward these teenagers they individually struggled with making each of their days count. While some of the girls, such as Anita, who is terrified of death, began to feel this unbelievable lightness, others such as Peter are still trying to figure out who they are. Peter, while trying to protect the ones closest to him got caught up in some trouble.

In present-day Seattle, this book focuses on this group of six teenagers with various characteristics and different views on how they see the world around them and deal with difficult circumstances. There is possibly an approaching asteroid, and while some teens don't believe it, others do, so they begin to alter their everyday habits and seek the reality of their life on earth, and live life to the fullest.

Peter, Eliza, and Andy are the main characters thus far. Peter has struggled with finding who he is but recently has had guidance from a strange teacher. This teacher, Mr. McArthur asked him if it would be better to fail at something worthwhile or fail at something meaningless. These types of guidance and inspiration have begun to shape these students as they start to think for themselves and discover who they are.
