I get why people think Holden is annoying and a misogynist rn in this part of the book, but I don’t think he hates women at all. I think he just hates everyone, and if any respects women and cares about them more than men.
Throughout the book so far he has been characterized as troublesome and disobedient so I think it fits perfect, and I see some self destructive behavior can come out of that ego/self hate.
