Hm was expecting to be a lot better based on the reviews. Plot seems very straightforward and not sure if it’s because of the translation, find the writing to lack depth

Great read. Making me realize how much I have read books from White & Asian authors but little from Black & Brown authors. Want to be more intentional to do so as my perspective on the American Immigrant perspective is getting limited (among other things)

WOAH her writing is gripping. I already know I’m gonna love this book

Definitely need to reread this sometime in the future. It’s very well written but I don’t find myself fully absorbing the texts. I want to be able to grasp the full depth of the analysis and not finding myself having much patience to do so right now.
