Not on the exact page as I'm currently in, but I just remembered how the East sees the people from the West (Caucasians) having the same undistinguishable look, while the West does the same thing with the people from the East (Chinese). Kuang's musings are definitely embedded in the pages.

"I like kids. Huh. Just a feeling. But I like them. They're cool. They're fun to hang out with.

So I'm a single man in my thirties, who lives alone in a small apartment, I don't have any kids, but I like kids a lot. I don't like where this is going...

A teacher! I'm a schoolteacher! I remember it now!

Oh, thank God. I'm a teacher."

😂

I love his train of thoughts.

*White Nights*

Too fast... If there's a shotgun wedding, this is a shotgun love... nah, it's just infatuation and I'm guessing it's a welcome change to his solitary walks.

What is up with not using quotation marks ("")for the spoken speech? 😄
Is this just the copy I got or is this how the writer decided to deliver her stories or maybe just this particular novel?

She realised that you could be as honest as possible in life, but people only see the truth if it is close enough to their reality. As Thoreau wrote, ‘It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.’
