I am not sure about this book

Very bleak but gripping despite basically the same dismal day occurring over and over. Man and boy are cold and starving, everything gray and covered in ash, hiding from cannibals.

Realised I watched the film a few years ago and I was about to turn the page onto a harrowing scene but I’ve decided the better thing to do is go to sleep and save it for daylight.

Someone completely beautiful, inside and out gifted me this today, as a gift for graduating, with a truly tear-rendering message inscribed inside the cover. What a world to be in, where people you love show up for you, know you and care so profoundly.

Maybe I’m reading the wrong one but I don’t get the Marukami hype whatsoever
