tuning into this book bc i was too young to know much about dunham at the time of her start on the scene. there’s a certain aspect / genre of women who the media / public has turned on, having a “renaissance” - whether they are necessarily deserving of it or not. so far, some of it sounds like dunham was part-disaster in her 20s, which is bringing me comfort to know this in mine. starting girls soon

listening to this as a young woman just starting her postgrad life, her future & her understandings of love. i am both thankful that i have older women to tell me tales and give me (realistic) portrayals of these matters but im so … devastated that this happens. i’m devastated for so many women who either have or lack the means to pull themselves up from this

read 1/3 of the book thus far; it saddens me that muntaqim’s points, while poignant, are still relevant today. i’m writing this on a platform bezos owns in 2026, and while revolutionary / leftists forces have come a long way, there is so much left to do.

currently on the brussels chapter. i didnt expect this type of format but im not necessarily mad at it. this definitely feels like it was needed at the time it was published but sometimes as pitts writes, his ignorance still peeks through. i want to find more words to describe this than just corny
