END OF ACT 5 ACT 2
Yeah this is really good. It's not perfect, but it manages to get genuine laughs from me, always offers visually pleasing art, and has enough experimentation to make continued reading feel exploratory. The comic's highs and lows are easily distinguishable, but when the right characters are involved and the events get genuinely compelling, this is electric. Glad I compelled myself to check this out.

Sheesh slow day today as you can tell by my progress. They're introducing a bunch of new characters with confusing names and they all talk weird so I'm really having my brain teased here but it's fun and it passes the time so idrc.

Okay so this is the actual end of Act 4 I don't know why they lied to me the first time kinda uncool

Oh! That's the end of Act 4! I didn't expect it would be coming up so soon, but I suppose that would explain why things got so interesting. It wasn't a big climactic finish to the act but I suppose that hasn't been the case thus far. Enjoying this today, more than I was before.

Okay, this is actually pretty interesting. I like the concepts that the last few pages have introduced, and I am intrigued to keep reading. I stopped specifically on this page because I liked it. I am going to keep reading though, just wanted to catalog my thoughts at this point.

Gets a few laughs out of me, I'm still intrigued, but I am somewhat autopiloting through this. Don't think I really understand it.

You know something is confusing when you start getting lost during the built-in recap.

Enjoying how the world and story have expanded within the six panel format. Could easily chew through this in a single sitting but I've tried to space it out so I can enjoy it longer.

Alright so far. The religious stuff is growing slightly tired. Some insane Guts panels in here, really iconic ones.

Wow, that was such an incredible run of chapters. A total reality check for Guts. Incredibly satisfying to watch him fucking snap out of it. Don't disappoint me.

I must have forgotten to update my progress last time, because I just re-read all of these chapters 💔

Misato is kinda being a bitch! Honey that's your new SON give him a break!

The two most notable things to me so far are how ditzy Misato is portrayed and my slight beef with how they do the wording and lettering within the text boxes. Feels very awkward, but I understand the challenge it poses. The gutters in this 3-1 version are also pretty brutal, it can be tough to see or read anything happening closer to the inside of the spread.

Fuck I love Sadamoto's art here. I own a few of his art books already, so getting to see the story of Evangelion drawn exclusively and directly by him is such a treat. I'm interested to see how this diverges from the original anime, and what aspects of it I may prefer.

God it's just as good the second time. Maybe even better.

Man, this is just brutal to read. I'm gutted. It's all so sweet.
