Alice Buswell is 4% done with The Midnight Library (The Midnight World, #1)
The first couple chapters is a lot of bad things happening to her from her cat dying to getting laid off. And finding out that her parents are both dead, and her brother pretty much hates her, and her deciding to take her own life. She’s a 35 year old who hasn’t achieved much in her life, and is miserable.

There’s so much tension built up now! Especially after the meet up between the Bloodsworn and Orka at the end of the first book. I’m not really enjoying Guovars POV cause it’s.. you know.. him. But it goes give more information to what others are doing

It’s still good. And each individual storyline is interesting and keeps me wanting to learn more. Vargs and Orka’s stories interest me more than Elvar’s. Tho her’s is a lot more based on adventure. The world building is great. There are just SO many characters in the war bands to keep track of, that I do forget who is who from time to time.

This is a really good story to listen to on audiobook. Starting it reading it was hard to get the names and pronunciations correct, so listening to it, especially on a 12 hour drive has been really good! Each of the 3 stories are so interesting, and throughout. I’m excited to see if they are going to cross paths.

Amazing! I listened to this on my 12 hour drive to Tahoe! I stayed interested in the story the entire time, and I know for sure that I am going to pick up book 2. Des is probably one of my favorite MMCs. The plot is interesting with bargains, favors, repayment, humans, and non humans. It doesn’t feel rushed at any point, and was just cozy. I cried a bit at one point (probs cause I was tired) bc of the MMCs actions

The characters make me a bit mad. Like whhyyyyy. I think it’s mostly cause it’s written for YA, and needs to keep a certain pace.

The story is interesting tho. Im struggling to get through it compared to the other books I’ve read and listened to recently. I do enjoy reading about Greece and the gods again! It’s a different take on them.

Ehhhh. I’m not sure how I feel able it. It’s definitely a YA book, which is fine. But there are just some things with the fights, and her interactions with the gods that make me eye roll.

Soooo good. Love the dire wolves, and Mer’s relationship with her wolf right now. Hate hate situation. Definitely want to see where it goes from there. Not really surprised about her initial love interest and him turning out to be the prince, buuuttttt it was well done, and their conversation actually made sense.

I’m really enjoying my this book! It’s an easier read, and the story is interesting! The world is relatively small, tho there are so many different types of spirits. The pace is fun, not to fast and not slow either. There are some parts that feel a little quick, and don’t give a ton of explanation, but for it being a shorter novel, it’s great.

This book is SUPER heavy. I LOVE the writing, and the story. It’s definitely trauma heavy, and some parts of it have put me on edge. Which is where I’m at now, especially with the medical malpractice, and rape to get pregnant. I’m going to go back to this story soon, it’s definitely one of those books that I need to read a bit at a time to get through it.

I’m surprisingly pleased with this book so far! I wasn’t sure what I was expecting, but I love the mystery that there is, not only about the FMC and her past/family. But also about the University that she is in, and what’s happening at the school. It’s not a heavy read, which I appreciate. Even with the topics in the book, death being a prevalent one. There’s also a romantic interest to it, with the MMC.

Hmmmm. It’s okay. I really didn’t feel like there was any real world building. There was a lot of repetition in some areas, and the relationship building between the FMC, the MMC, and others is nonexistent. The trials felt rushed in terms of what she had to do, especially to win. Since there wasn’t much explanation of her magic. We got a lot more from it in the last trial.
