In Genesis 23, we read about the death of Sarah. He wept for the loss of her companionship, just as Christ wept for the death of Lazarus. This was not a sign of weakness, but a sign of love.

The destruction of Sodom narrative is kind of sobering. God told Abraham that he would preserve this city if there were ten righteous men in the city. Biblical scholars estimate that there were 600-1200 people who lived there at the time. So if even 1% was considered righteous in the site of God, they would have been spared. Is 1% of our world in the state of grace and truly making God happy? Food for thought. Gen 19

Oof, why did Abraham not tell the Egyptians that Sarai was his wife? That’s kind of messed up 😂🙏🏻

This book is both intriguing and disturbing. It’s classified as a gothic Mexican classic piece. The main character comes across a city of the dead with its heavy history. The guilt, the grit, the shadowy nature of this novella is powerful.

“Behold the birth of tragedy: when idiots come face to face with the vicissitudes of life.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself sir.

Already my favorite book of the year, gotta love the stoics.

“No man is free who is not master of himself.”

“Difficulties are things that show a person what they are.”

“If God had made it possible for his own fragment (that he gave us) to be hindered or compelled by anyone including himself, then he wouldn’t be God, looking after us the way he has been.”

Where did we go wrong humanity??
