Oh man, Lib is crazily acerbic and hardened while Anna is mildly Luna Lovegood-esque. What a pair. I'm looking forward to their friendship/mentorship. Also I really like "Lib" as a nickname for Elizabeth.

First few pages: dismal thought experiment and matching tone :/

So bizarre in how it's both wise and juvenile. I feel like I'm nodding in total agreement of what young Noah says most of the time about the world, and then I'm totally confused/alarmed/repulsed when he acts out against Jude. Then again, it is a book centred around sibling rivalry ... Particularly of the twin sort ...

Already alarmed/excited by the unrelenting pace but hoping it does not become too dramatic and like ... hokey

There is so much mundane detail and rote description. I forgot that's the writing style (maybe the translation too). I'm intrigued though, and I like how unapologetic the characters' personalities are.

Kondo underestimates my (and others'?) ability to relapse/"rebound" from a perfectly clean state and mess up the room again ....

Different, harsher world than Shannon Hale's Princess Academy which I really like. More abrupt too. I feel like it's not as eloquent and had trouble getting into it (because of the higher fantasy?) but now it's getting more intense!

Ohhhhh my gosh so I was at a crucial point and my library ebook expired. What to do. This book is a lot more personal/emotional and delves in Strike's history a lot more - I am intrigued

Victor is such an entitled brat. Notable quote: "I lied." But at least this part is more appealing to me than the beginning of the 1st novel - it's about an old, detailed painting with hidden secrets. Cool.

Persuasion > Mansfield Park in terms of how much I like the book, characters, etc

This Austen novel REALLY makes me realize she was the pioneer of chick lit romance plots that are so prevalent today

She is honestly one of the more annoying narrator-protagonists I've read. Book is moving kind of slow right now.
