This book is a fantastic look back on the media in the 90s, 00s, and 10s that modelled the way my generation sees women. A must-read.

The first chapter is about sexism in music in the 90’s 00’s. I was a teenager at that time (so was the author). I am glad that I have never been able to understand lyrics (still today). I never realised how many of the American songs I listened to were that violent against women. I am glad for that. But I also did not see how artists like Janet Jackson fought back.
