The audio book for this is helping my progress so much

I’m trying again and it’s getting better I just think the world building in the first 200 pgs was overwhelming

savoring and enjoying
-kinda mad I got the b&n edition that is pink bc it looks similar to happy place

I’m liking this new exercise of her writing where we have the story within the story… I think I was surprised by that but it’s welcome

The love interest is a ghost, naturally

"When did I lose that? The delight of success? When did winning become something I needed in order to survive? Something I did not enjoy having, so much as panic without?

I feel like this story can resonate with all achievement-driven people, women in particular, when success or perfection begins to feel like a relief, not something that is well earned and celebrated.

It’s getting easier to follow but honestly she’s done this series such a disservice — it’s so easy to be engulfed in the story and then her raising a random name mentioned once in book 2 or bringing up politics that were not clearly fleshed out just takes away all the magic of it. Other fantasy series I’ve read have NOT been this confusing and have maintained elaborate politics. Come on girl!

Confused abt the politics and what they are trying to accomplish but still entertained? Am I supposed to be kind of lost help

weird but intriguing

Somehow, blind picking from my mom's bookshelf, I have chosen a book with the EXACT same concept as Maybe in Another Life - the two parallel "stay" or "go" timelines based off one decision. I have never read a book like this before, so it's strange that I have hit two in a row, but this one is equally addicting. Maybe there's something about it that I need to internalize right now, who know's!

I'm actually liking it a lot although I wonder how the plot will transform since the first 1/3 is repetitive in a lot of ways
