I’ve been reading this one for what feels like ages bc I’ve been so busy lately & have had no time for reading but I’ve got just over 100 pages to go now 🙏🏻

Okay yes this twist was exactly what the pacing needed, feeling much more invested now 😅

Okay don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying this so far but the writing, specifically the characterisation, is leaving something to be desired. We have 6 different POVs but honestly, each chapter could be from any of the 6 main characters. There’s hardly any inner monologue for each person and I feel like we’re learning very little about what drives them personally. Keen to see where it ends up though.

I thought I’d find this new release hard to pick up as I read the previous book in one sitting last year but I’m eating it up! I love CB’s writing and characters in this world, can’t wait to see how this one unfolds

The writing is gorgeous and I adore the characters but there is no plot in sight, I hope this picks up soon

One of my most anticipated releases this year! ASID was one of my favourite books I read all of last year, this sequel was announced like a year and a half ago and I’m nervous I won’t enjoy it as ASID was very much a stand-alone, self-contained story to me, let’s see how we go though!

Okay 50% in & I have some thoughts, I’m enjoying this but confused about if there’s really any fantasy element at all, all I’ve read is that some characters can create portals but that was mentioned literally only once. Also halfway through and I have no clue who the love interest is supposed to be??

You may be wondering what could’ve possibly possessed me to pick up a 1k+ page fanfic (as a non-fanfic reader) and all I can say is that I was so enamoured with Brigette Knightly’s writing after reading The irresistible urge to fall for you enemy, that I fear nothing else will fill the Osric-and-Aurienne shaped hole in my heart except for this
