A hot take. So far not loving it… I don’t like how the social commentary is so spelled out for the reader. IMO it would be more powerful to show the reader rather than just stating it. It’s starting to distract me from the plot where I feel like the social commentary and plot could easily go hand in hand without spelling it out. I think I like being trusted as a reader to come to the right conclusion.

I don’t really get the hype this is the exact same book at the first one but in Paris instead of Rome

End of chapter 9 the professor says that “Shaitan” is an Islamic word… the language of Islam…. He’s supposed to be a Harvard professor hmmmmmmmm
