I could see how this could be a favorite for some… for me it just fell short. I got annoyed with the word puns, found the endless descriptions/monologues cringy, & the story was just too similar to something I’ve seen a million times, which in itself wouldn’t have been an issue if it was interesting enough.

Proof a fantasy books don’t have to be 7 book series. Fast paced, while I’ve seen similar plots before it was a nice break from the usual fantasy series I’ve read in the past few years. I also like that there was actual some character growth.

Im overly annoyed reading this book

I’m so close to finishing but I want to DNF. Teddy is the only thing keeping me going and even that isn’t enough. Idk if it’d be better to physically read but the FMC narrator for the audiobook is so cringe. She has this fake seductive voice that is so out of place. The dialogue is only so cringe. It’s what I’d expect a virgin to write talk like.
