Freida’s done it again!! Absolutely gobsmacked by the narrative shift this time

Book 4 done and I’m only holding on for the plot.

Yes they waited until she was 18. Yes I’m still feeling icky about it. Yes this writer falls into the stereotypes of male authors writing female characters.

1/3 way through book 3 and I stg if there’s some weird “I’ll wait until she turns 18” bs this will be my first DNF in YEARS

Freedom’s Fury:
Less action packed but cool to get some more back story and world building

Book 1: Freedom Fire
Referring to this series as the “alien overlord” books. Loving the premise so far, something fishy happening with this war. Yet another series I’m convinced would make a good TTRPG.

Currently super infuriating. April as a main character is not jiving with me with the stupid decisions she’s making but if I know Freida I know (hope) there’s something soon that will MAJORLY shift my perspective

This book is so cute?? And the unexpected connection between Marcellus and Tova??

Slow going. Might abandon it as an audiobook since it’s hard to keep up with when there’s multiple shifts in focus in one chapter

No jokes for this one. Enjoying the read A LOT and is a really good jumping off point for anyone wanting to learn about the complexity of identity for Indigenous people post-colonialism.

Too real. In all honesty the reflection on identity and how the world/colonists tells indigenous people to feel in this book mixed with legends and history is making this a very quick read for me.
