This book might be my favorite non fiction of 2026 so far

Heavily rocking with the prose, heavily NOT rocking with reading this on my phone because the library doesn’t have physical copies and I don’t have an ereader

I feel like I kinda saw this plot twist coming from a mile away but it doesn’t take away from the fact I just know I’m going to be emotionally broken by an octopus

Not me picking up this book at work while on a 1:1 (and leaving remarkably bright creatures by the door) and it already banging

every woman should be legally allowed to punch a man in the throat once a month

Micro-dosing depression with my book choices lately I guess

finding out a MAN first performed a lobotomy on a WOMAN after seeing excitement results about MONKEYS having their ENTIRE frontal lobe removed and saying she was CURED after she couldn’t remember basic facts and had crying fits… on brand but I’m still upset

I know I’m not even at the worst parts yet but why is this book just purely suffering
