I am amazed how unprofessional and not very astute these supposed FBI agents are.

This is just the great story-telling that I was in need of during these winter days, wonderfully narrated by one of my favorite actors Cassandra Campbell.

Hate it already. All the dirty politics & assassins. All the gratuitous violence. And no decent human in sight. I don't mind political thrillers, but the author should know to balance out good versus evil. Here it's all evil.

So far, I'm sort of lukewarm about this book. What irritates me most, is that many of these so-called "emancipated" women are so manipulative. Honestly, I already dislike these women depicted here. I'm all for independent women, but it's all about appearances here. Yuck! What was the author thinking? Why do we need more negative, more greedy women in this world? Why not some genuine women? Ugh!??

A bit of a letdown after the first book, because more terrible accusations are thrown at the Leary family, this time at the younger sister, Evangeline, and personally, I think that's a bit too much drama for one family. Furthermore, once again, it's all so convenient for the police to charge people without a thorough investigation. There's a lack of depth to these stories, unfortunately.

Minka's voice and Minka's story : probably the best part of this book.

Having mixed feelings about this book - There's a lot to take away from this novel, and I am doing it that as I'm moving along in the story.
To be honest, being a Flemish person of Polish decent and having lived in my home country of Belgium all my live (still am), I have to reflect of this novel by Picoult, seeing it as a thesis, an interpretation from a well-informed author - so let's just read on. . .

Fascinated, outraged, disgusted and curious; these are the feelings welling up in my while I'm only on page 80 - chapter 8 - of this book.

I'm honestly very moved listening to this audio book.

So far, this is a rather sad story. Kind of brings me down, honestly.

If I had known that so many chapters would be narrated by the serial killer, explaining why he kills, why he enjoys, and blablaba - I would not have picked this book.
Honestly, this is so déjà-vu.

Compared to Frank's other works, this one is the weakest yet. Have no affinity whatsoever - feel no empathy for these characters.

the story's getting better.

I still like Milton, but the chapters dedicated to the Governor, his politics, his entourage actually bore me! (Sorry).

Very unique book.
