This part of the book got me screaming and tearing up (very literally). The way the British merchants (aka colonisers) speak to and about Chinese people while standing on Chinese land has elicited a rage in me I never knew. R.F. Kuang, you did it again, creating antagonists with the most awful personas. Mesmerising.
