Just started this and couldn’t put it down because the plot thickens. Way more saucy than it needs to be but I like the writing. It’s really well done in my opinion

I’m intrigued. I like how quickly I can get through the chapters too, especially for a book like this lol a bit more than I expected going in but so far not thinking about DNFing

Still bothered by the fact that she is so young, but this book continues to grip me in ways. I was not expecting. Scott Bergstrom really is a wonderful writer!

I’m about to start chapter 14 and even though the writing is ✨amazing✨in this book, I can’t get over that this is a highschooler. This book would’ve been literally perfect if she had been in the middle of college or fresh out of college. She’s too young for this to unfold the way it is.

Okay now it’s getting interesting. The protagonist went through a test and I feel satisfied by it 🤣

So far I’m pulled in. Definitely didn’t think about what would happen if the electricity suddenly went out and just how big that ripple effect would be.

Kinda annoyed that this is a YA book because from the cover and summary on the sleeve it seemed like she was way older than high school age. For now though, I’ll continue reading it.

A bit lost in some of it but so far I’m still as obsessed as I was with the first book 🥰

I think it’s interesting how quickly Drake went from ugly to handsome lol the way the beginning of the book describes him paints him as older and not eligible at all. I like where this is going so far!

😭 I can’t believe Vikter. But also I’m 💯 convinced that Hawke is a vampire. He won’t touch the blade of her bloodstone knife, heard people calling for him before the appeared with the attack of the craven and could see in the dark perfectly. He is toooootallyyy a vampirrreeee he has to be. That’s the only logical explanation. Literally just waiting for his betrayal to be unveiled. He’s too perfect.

I’m sus of Hawke. Poppy should stop telling Hawke things 🤦🏻‍♀️ Idk I just think something is going to happen where it reveals that he isn’t who he says he is or he’s working with the Dark One which btw I think is his brother or Poppy’s parents or something. I think it’s the opposite. I think she was stolen away and the real “good” people are the people they are fighting against.

I’m ✨obsessed✨. This is the kind of slow burn I enjoy. But also Chapter 16?!?!?! WHEN I SAY I SHRIEKED 🫣 ugh I love this book. I NEEDED this book!

I’m so sus of Bjorn. Something is off about him. The marking on the tree and the way he reacted when Freya was sure it was a woman who marked the tree was super suspicious. I think it was him. I think all that time away made him turn allegiances and is now working against his father somehow. Idk but I’m excited to finish the book!

I’m enjoying this book way more than I thought I would.

If you’ve seen the show “The Vikings” then you’ll understand what’s happening in this book. Without watching that show I would be beyond confused. I really wish the author picked more original or unique names too. Bjorn is so overly used but it is what it is. It’s still a great book so far.

Told a friend this book could’ve been written better. They said I should stop reading it if it’s a waste of time (especially since we are racing to see who can read more books)…considering doing just that. Not happy with how long certain plots are being dragged on but I’m going to give it at least til half the book before I throw in the towel.

Getting so gooooood. Some of the writing could be a tad better but it’s still a good book so far.
